Job Description:
Daily operation of the class water plant. Including but not limited to, assisting the manager and lead operator with operation of the plant in all aspects, well and plant inspections, chlorine level testing, chemical feed rate adjustments, refilling chemicals and data recording. Ensure proper operation and level of storage tanks. Perform necessary plant operations adjustments as directed by manager. Collection of routine and special samples. Perform preventative maintenance and basic equipment repairs. Perform general cleaning of facility and equipment. Assist in grounds maintenance, including grass mowing and snow removal. Advise the manager of any mechanical or treatment issues. Daily operation of the class wastewater plant. Including but not limited to, assisting manager and lead operator with operation of the plant in all aspects. Performing daily inspections, collection and running routine samples such as dissolved oxygen and PH. Collection and delivery of samples to a designated laboratory. Wasting and transferring of sludge by product. Running and adjustment of treatment equipment such as grit dewatering pumps, blowers, return pumps and UV disinfection. Operation of sludge dewatering centrifuge. Perform preventative and basic equipment repairs. Perform general cleaning of facility and equipment. Assist in grounds maintenance, including grass mowing and snow removal. Advise manager of any mechanical or treatment issues. Collections and Distribution. Hydrant flushing for the purpose of water turn over and hydrant testing. Fire flow tests on hydrants. Water meter reading. Water main repair. Operation of sewer jet and sewer cleaning. Checking of sewer lift stations and generators. Advise manager of any issues.
Experience Required:
Willingness to be on call and available for emergency work when required. Answer alarm calls. Work holidays and weekends on a rotational basis. Desire to train and advance. Must be able to go up and down ladders. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must possess an Ohio Class I Water and Wastewater Operator’s Certificates. Must possess a valid State of Ohio motor vehicle operator’s license. Applicant must have the willingness to obtain an Ohio class 2 water supply license and an Ohio class 3 wastewater treatment license.

Job Description:
Provides a variety of routine, complex, skilled and technical work in theoperation, maintenance, and repair of the Water Treatment Facility. Actively supports and upholds the City’s stated mission and values. Some weekend and holiday work required.
Experience Required:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent (G.E.D.); and 2. Possess and maintain a valid Ohio Driver’s License; * and 3. Minimum of four (4) years of experience in water treatment operations and/or maintenance; and 4. Possess an Ohio EPA Class III Water Supply Operator license as determined by the department director or designee*; and 5. Possess thorough knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods, regulations and procedures used in facility operations and maintenance; and 6. Be able to interpret specific chemical and biological analysis; and 7. Be able to keep accurate and detailed records; and 8. Be able to lead and supervise employees; and 9. Must be able to respond within a reasonable amount of time to emergencies and fulfill physical demands of the position; and 10. Must be able and willing to work extended hours and demonstrate a work history of reliable attendance and overtime response. *Licensures must be maintained over the course of employment as a condition of employment within this classification
